Luis Alberto Suárez, hands ball on the Quarter Final against Ghana
Talk about a hero on the football field, I’ve never seen any courageous act can compare to Suarez’s. On the match against Ghana, the game was forced to enter the extra time after a tight 1 - 1 for 90 minutes.
Near the end of the final whistle, there was a chaos in front of the Uruguay’s goal and the goal keeper was already not in the proper position when Adiyah (GHANA) made a header and a clear shot on goal. It was a clear shot for Ghana if it weren’t because of Suarez’s hands were in the way to block it.
A drama, you say? You’ve seen nothing yet! Suarez was sent off by the referee with a red card and Ghana was given a penalty. Luis Suarez walked out the field with tears while Asamoah Gyan (GHANA) prepared to take the penalty.
Guess what, he failed the penalty, shot it wide against the bar. Suarez could not be even more happier seeing that from the side. His hands have saved Uruguay from an instant lost.
Uruguay won the match 4 - 2 on the penalty shoot out. Fernando Muslera, Uruguay’s goal keeper, was named man of the match for saving 2 of Ghana’s penalty shoots, but the true hero is the one sitting on the bench, Luis Suarez.
People saw it as a desperate act, the hands ball. But Suarez did everything he could to save his team, even just for less than a minute. He sacrifice himself with a red card, not being able to play in the semi final.
Man, don’t you just love football? All the drama, the sick and twisted fans who gain their peace after bashing at other teams and their fans, the falling players after their head get smashed up or their legs dislocated? And you can see heroic acts some of the times like Suarez’s… Or like Terry’s some of the years past when I actually fell for him in the first place.
And I love football because I enjoy them all… the drama, the sick and twisted fans, the falling players, and the heroic acts. It’s just the diving part I’m not so fond of. Which is why I loathe Ronaldo…
All is well… The best match throughout the World Cup 2010: Uruguay vs Ghana.
You the man, Luis Suarez!!!
